  1. Except for this READ.ME file, all files in this archive were placed in the 
  2. public domain by Borland.

  4. The original release of PATCH.COM did not support comments in the .DIF files, 
  5. consequently there were none and nobody could tell what a patch was fixing or 
  6. what version of Turbo-C (there WILL be more releases) a patch was meant for.

  8. I pointed out this folly to Borland, who released these files about 10 days 
  9. later.  The .DIF files now contain appropriate comments which may be read by 
  10. use of the PRINT filename.DIF or TYPE filename.DIF DOS commands.

  12. Note that there is no patch 4 in this package.  That is not an omission, 
  13. patch 4 was not released by Borland as of 1 Jul 87, the creation date of this 
  14. archive.
